Our Roots & Inspiration

Our Roots & Inspiration

El Arriero Taqueria at 6932 Market St, Wilmington, NC 28411 was created with inspiration from the life of an Arriero, a farmer in Mexico who moves goods from town to town using a trusted mule. After long days of work herding cattle and carrying food and supplies, a warm and filling meal brings comfort and rest. That same spirit guides the restaurant today, focusing on simple, hearty Mexican cuisine that reflects tradition and care for every guest served.
Family Tradition & Mexican Cuisine

Family Tradition & Mexican Cuisine

El Arriero Taqueria is built on family values and deep Mexican roots. The Ibarra family, also founders of El Cerro Grande Restaurant, wanted to bring traditional Mexican cuisine to Wilmington, NC. The menu reflects this goal with classic plates, hand made tortillas, and a traditional Mexican salsa bar. Every dish is prepared with care to honor real home-style cooking. The focus stays on sharing authentic flavors in a welcoming and easy dining space.
